ASME Pressure Vessel and Boiler Code

ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code is a well-established standard in industry. What is the right section to use, and when? The PVBC defines how pressure vessels and their associated piping are to be designed and manufactured taking into consideration operating conditions and other variables. Pressure containing vessels exist in a vast array of industries and applications, so the sizing and manufacturing standard is extensive. But do you know when you need to apply the code? Is your fabricator compliant and able to code stamp your vessels? Which Section or Sections of the code apply to your application? The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) does a great job of explaining the code and provides some great resources. Do you have the spare time to read the code and figure it out on your own? That’s a sure fire way to get in hot water with your significant other (or kids) at the end of the day. Don’t take a trip to the doghouse! Sagacity can fabricate just about any size vessel to code, all while being cost-effective and timely.
